Rewire Audio Bridge won't start
Hi everyone. I'm having an issue where the Rewire mode doesn't work. I get the message "There is already a Virtual Asio Client connected" whenever I try to start Pyramix (Native, Version 14.0.5) with it enabled. I don't have any other ASIO clients open, and I can't find anything that could...

Re: Importing tempo map
I do import .midi from composers all the time. Most are created in Logic and sent over. Often I will import audio files from logic also, and they match perfectly. Jesse Could you detail how you get MIDI files from Logic? I've never succeeded in getting anything worthwhile out of Logic, audio or MID...

Importing tempo map
Hey. Does anyone here import tempo maps into Pyramix? If so, how on earth do you create them? I've got a number of sequencers at my disposal, but none of them work with MIDI type 2 files, so Pyramix can't do anything with the files, it simply returns the cryptic error message "Big". Why Ty...

What problems will a Z77 chipset cause?
Recently, our Pyramix (masscore, MADI, old PCI Mykerinos) machine went down. hard. The only parts I had to hand to get an emergency fix up and running were a Xeon 3.2Ghz, and an Asus Z77-A motherboard. According to the reccomended PC config page http://www.merging.com/support/pc-config - the Z77 chi...

Re: Musicians' Breathing
Do people bother about this? If so how do you remove? As long as breath noise, or fret squeak on a guitar, or pedal noise on a piano (or etc etc etc..) is not distracting, then I prefer to just leave it in as part of the performance. Of course, being a lowly engineer, I'll often have a producer or ...

Grouping of pan and aux sends
Hi. Whilst working through a few sessions, it occurred to me that it would be very useful indeed, to be able to group channel pans and aux sends, in the same way as faders.
Would it be possible to include all these controls on a group strip, so that any and all controls are grouped?

Re: Recording -24 hours?
I just saw this thread, and know what causes the problem. Sorry for the late reply. I found that Pyramix jumps to the nearest instance of the current timecode, so let's say for example that timecode coming in is at 22:00 hours, and your project is currently sat at 00:00 in the timeline. When you hit...

Re: Serious stop recording lockup bug
Just a quick note. Unfortunately, the recovery tool, and Merging's tech support themselves were unable to recover the audio on this particular occasion, and so we had to fall back to the Video Recorder's guide mix for the item in question. Ah well, these things happen. This is why we have fall-back ...

Re: Serious stop recording lockup bug
thanks for the link - unfortunately it didn't solve the problem. I'm now in touch with Merging tech support to try and sort it out.

Re: Serious stop recording lockup bug
Just found this thread by searching for a corrupted file. Would it be possible for someone to also email me the PMF recovery tool? We lost a recording when our system hung, still recording. No keystrokes or mouse clicks would stop the transport, so I had to kill the pyramix.exe process. email addres...

Set the in and out markers to the entire length of the project. Set the tracks I wish to record to auto punch (alt-click record on track group) in All settings->Application->Jog/Chase, DESELECT "Stay in record until stop is pressed" in All settings->Project->Record DESELECT "prompt fo...

capturing several takes from a DA-98
Hi. I have several takes recorded on a DA-98 machine, with "time of day" timecode. The takes are not continuous, and so the timecode jumps between takes. I need to capture these into our pyramix. At the moment, I'm taking a timecode feed from the DA-98, and making Pyramix chase it, then dr...

Re: issues with Automation in Pyramix 6.1.6
Thanks for the workaround. It seems that all of our current libraries are causing this, which is a bit of a pain, but at least I now know how to work around the problem.
Any chance of giving us a rough idea when to expect the fix?
Thanks.

issues with Automation in Pyramix 6.1.6
Hi. I'm having serious automation issues in Pyramix V 6.1.6. Basically, the mixer is refusing to write any automation, in some projects. At other times, automation is written up to a certain point, and then the pyramix mixer seems to loose all connection with the automation data. Are there any known...
