Re: Final Check for Film levels
Hi Paulo, Yes, you're right. I'm not familiar with all these different Leq values and cinema rules. Are you talking about Leq(m), Leq(a), Leq unweighted, ....? Your values of 82 and 85 are pointing to acoustic loudness levels. As already published in different studies, Leq does not correlate very we...

Re: Pyramix Stagebox
Hello Stagebox friends,
What stagebox solution do you use currently (2011)? What protocol is used for interconnection? Which routers (if any) do you use with your stagebox on interconnection level?
Best regards,
Gabriel

Re: Final Check for Film levels
Hi, If you're talking about film levels, do you mean Dolby or general target levels for films? If the question is to use Final Check to evaluate Dolby DialNorm value, the answer is: yes! The original way of Dolby is based on anchor sequences like dialogues and led to the development of loudness mete...

Re: Laptop for Native
Dear all, I have to say I'm not a member of the Mac religion, but using a MBP17 turned out as a very good decision for Pyramix Native. Running bootcamped Windows XP x32 with a RME MADIface is a very stable platform for Pyramix. And since the RME runs equally well on Mac OS-X, I can also use Logic 9 ...

Audio Controller Apps
Dear all,
I know, it is in competition with ISIS somehow, but would be interesting: any experience available in this forum with wireless iPad audio controller apps like Saitara AC-7? Reliable SW? Touch and feel when operating Pyramix? Thanks for your reports.
Cheers,
Gabriel

Re: "S" monitoring in Monitor window?
If you use a TC electronic BMC-2 for monitoring, it is already there. And more. DAC sounds also very good at a very reasonable price

Re: MADI- cost of admission
I wanted to add my two cents in if I could, as the way i see it, when comparing the masscore/madi option as a package price to other similar technologies, it is actually pretty fair in my eyes. the consideration of comparative technology becomes more focused when you look at system latencies that a...

Re: MADI- cost of admission
As posted in other threads, beeing a Mykerinos user for a long time, I'm now using a MBP17 running Pyramix Native with MADIface. Why? For mobile applications, it was clear to use a relative lightweight notebook with high resolution screen. And talking about cost, in that scenario the host is no more...

Re: Which ASIO interface do you use ?
RME MADIface with ASIO Hammerfall DSP driver here. After starting of Windows there is always an error message coming up due to a conflict with the internal Realtek HD Audio of the bootcamped MBP, but the RME runs absolutely stable. Also the Realtek Audio can play back Windows stuff in parallel to th...

Re: PMX 6.2.4_SP1_build_7777 onboard sound issues
Hi Charlie Sorry for being confusing: I just managed to use two different devices for input and output under ASIO. With ASIO4ALL it was possible to use the onboard audio for input source and the RME for output destinaton, but not vice versa. And of course ASIO4ALL doesn't support all possibilities o...

Re: PMX 6.2.4_SP1_build_7777 onboard sound issues
Many thanks for your useful suggestion, Frank. Yes, it seems ASIO4all could do that difficult glue job between different manufacturers, HW and SW. I've tried ASIO4all v2.9 and v2.10 beta. Playback from Pyramix thru Realtek onboard audio works quite well. It also works with Realtek inputs to RME MADI...

PMX 6.2.4_SP1_build_7777 onboard sound issues
On my MBP17 onboard sound (Realtek) with Native DirectSound is no more available in VS3 control panel. Upgrading Realtek drivers didn't help. Downgrading to PMX 6.2.3_build_6936 restored the DirectSound possibility next to the ASIO driver. Since I'm using my MBP very often standalone with built in h...

Re: Pyramix Stagebox
As far as I know the anaconda system uses a proprietary format which transports 64 bidirectional audio channels plus additional ethernet connection of unknown speed (10 Mbps, 100 Mbps???). And that's probably the reason why it's not MADI: Ethernet takes too much bandwidth to fit into the MADI format...
