That looks much easier and faster than what I've done. Thanks for the comprehensive explanation !
I'll try it later this week and let you know if it worked (on my system).

Best workflow for AAF export at different SR
Hi, I was asked by a client to provide an AAF file with embedded audio at 48kHz from my 96 kHz project, for their video editing. After some experimenting I managed, but I can't help feeling that there should be an easier method. If anyone can share his/her workflow, I'd be very grateful. What I did:...

Re: Peak meter level differences between systems
IIRC we checked that a year ago and the settings looked identical.
BTW, are the numerical peak values influenced by the settings ? I thought they were related to ballistics only.

The meters on the mixer, next to the faders.
I didn't check the meter bridge but could do that if anyone is (still) interested.

Re: Peak meter level differences between systems
Hi, We finally were able to reproduce the problem. It happens when a mixing desk setup is copied from one pc to the other. It turns out that they were slightly different Pyramix versions: 10.0.5 RC1 Build 28606 and 10.1.4 HotFix Build 31117. This is probably an old and obsolete issue, with all devel...

Re: Encountered an improper argument
Hi, I just had the same problem (Pyramix 10, Windows 10) and found a workaround: When I select "small view" or "large view" in the Media Management, the error occurs (one popup window for every audio file found in the current directory). When I select "list view", the e...

Peak meter level differences between systems
We have recently received our backup Pyramix system so we can record live in parallel for safety. With both mixing desks side to side we noticed that the numerical peak level values don't match (up to 2 dB difference, but quite random). Both Pyramix systems are linked to the same Ravenna inputs. As ...

AVID S6
Thought I'd start a new thread, in case anyone is interested. We've just installed an AVID S6 (EuCon) linked to a Pyramix 10. First impressions are very positive, most essential functions work fine. Serious recording/mixing work starts soon. I don't think editing (classical music) on the S6 makes mu...

Re: Avid S3
Hi, it's may 2016 now.
We've just installed an AVID S6 with Pyramix 10 and although it's a bit early to tell, it seems to work very well. Starting serious work soon.
Some S6 features are apparently ProTools only (e.g. waveform display in meters) but most of the essential functions are there.

Re: Horus powered on permanently ?
Thanks Mike, that's good to know.
We've discussed this in our team and decided to switch them off, assuming it's safer for the electronics. They are not used every day, YMMV.

Horus clock master or slave ?
Is there any difference in performance between a clock-master Horus and a (Ravenna) slaved one ? Although I wouldn't expect any significant difference, I'd be interested in experiences from others. I would think: main mics to the master ADC-Horus during recording and switch master to the DAC-Horus d...

Horus powered on permanently ?
Hi, I've been away from this forum for several years, so apologies if this has been asked before. A quick search didn't show any results. Is it safe to keep a Horus permanently switched on ? Saving energy sounds like a good thing, but what about life expectancy/reliability of the hardware ? Thanks, ...

Re: Fade Editor Window, fade memory recall disappears
When I click the "thumbs up" icon to accept the fade and close the window... the floating window closes, but it becomes an open FEW on the right-hand side of the timeline (as if in a tab with the tabs docked over on that right hand side as they can be). This has bothered me too since upgr...

Re: Native and Time Code?
I'd like to know too about native TC options.
There are a few DAW applications that can read Time Code directly from any of its (digital) audio inputs.
It would be great to have that option on the Pyramix feature wishlist.

Re: Native with separate input and output devices ?
Thanks Ricardo. BTW, in another thread Tim Martyn wrote: ( http://forum.merging.com/viewtopic.php?p=13954#p13954 ) I spoke with Claude Cellier yesterday at AES, who told me that developing capacity for Native to deal with more than one ASIO device will be included in future plans. It seems that more...
