I assume the 2-second pre-gap you are seeing is simply part of the redbook standard. It is added to every DDP I make. It's not actually played as silence. For example, plenty of people use even bigger pre-gaps as easter-egg tracks that are only playable if the listener rewinds to before the official...

Thanks for the quick answers. Just set your waveform display to View, Waveform Display, Auto-Scale Visible Waveform. I ended up with this setting before I first posted on the forum. It looks great but just at the moment I want one more zoom in to properly align transients, the whole waveform changes...
