Re: MYK-MB5_AES/EBU DSD on Z97-A MB with ASM1083 PCI bridge
Why? There is a wide range of E5-26xx V2 CPU's, starting from Intel Xeon E5-2609v2 Processor (2.50GHz, 4Core, 10M Cache, 80W) which costs ~ $280 - $300 USD.
Sure, if you prefer, E5-2660 V2 (2.20 - 3 GHz, 10Core, 25M Cache, 95W), be prepared to pay around ~ $1350 USD.
USB 3.0 - what for?

Hi, Andrew!
Yes, it was your post to incline me towards SuperMicro C602 chipset MOBO paired with Myk PCI card. Thanks!
Ok, I'll give it a try soon. Will update the thread.

Re: MYK-MB5_AES/EBU DSD on Z97-A MB with ASM1083 PCI bridge
Andrew, I need two PCI slots. I'll try luck with SuperMicro X9SRH-7F ( holds up to 12 cores and up to 135W). It has 3 PCI, It has more than any consumer X79 MOBO can offer: -SuperMicro claims that Intel C602J chipset version, implemented in X9SRH-7F is a long-life version of C602: 7-years of 24-hour...

Re: Merging Emotion Music Server Beta - updates?
Hello, Paolo! I'm glad not to be the only mad man trying to make Mykerinos work under ASIO (PCI version, thou) Here I've described my experience http://forum.merging.com/viewtopic.php?f=54&t=10362 I was told that Mykerinos ASIO drivers are "legacy". And that's that. I'm trying to...

Re: MYK-MB5_AES/EBU DSD on Z97-A MB with ASM1083 PCI bridge
...Would appreciate If anyone could proof my experience & confirm reliable operation of Mykerinos under ... Z97... motherboard! Are you able to hold off purchase of a new Mobo until the X99 ? I'm not really sure the interim steps are really worth while. (I even know a PC builder that continuall...

Re: Mykerinos PCI power pinouts for a dedicated PSU
Another question, is weather the 3.3V PCI lines may be painlessly isolated from the mobo, or are they involved in signal transfering (according to PCI standard 3.3V lines may be used as AC signal backward bus)?

Re: Merging Emotion Music Server Beta - updates?
Thanks, I'm sympathetic to the idea of DSP processing (room acoustic EQ correction, group phase delays correction, AFC correction, DSP-x-over) & streaming HD PCM files under real-time OS (RTX, MassCore). The reason ,why HD PCM files, is that they have enough noise floor headroom for such manipul...

Re: DSD output over Mykerinos AES/EBU - 4 links mandatory?
Thanks for the info & solution offered, The reason why I'm "wasting my time" with Mykerinos, is that I'm sympathetic to the idea of DSP processing (room acoustic EQ correction, group phase delays correction, AFC correction, DSP-x-over) while streaming HD LPCM files under real-time OS (...

Re: Mykerinos ASIO driver problem
I have to share new experience: PCI Mykerinos ASIO drivers don't work on Gigabyte Z97 MB. I guess, similar situation with Merging sertified Gigabyte Z87 mobo. However, Mykerinos ASIO drivers do work (with many bugs, thou) with the very same software setup (Win7 sp1 x86, Pyramix 7.0.10 SP2, JRiver Me...

Still going: approx. a decade now ! <...> We expect the C602 chipset will do the same. Andrew, Please let me know if ASIO drivers for PCI Mykerinos card work well on C602 chipset? I have to share new experience: PCI Mykerinos ASIO drivers don't work on Gigabyte Z97 MB. I guess, similar situation wi...

Does Pyramix (7) support PAE patched x86 Windows7
Hi!
Mykerinos cards work under 32 bit OS only, which means that maximum RAM size in the system would be limited by 4Gb.
PAE patch for Windows eliminates this limit.
Does Pyramix (7 version) and RTX (MassCore) support OS Windows 7 (x86) patched with PAE?
Thanks,
Dmitry

Merging Emotion Music Server Beta - updates?
Hi! I'm curious, what is the current status of Merging Emotion Music Server project? According to audiophile web-formum threads, It's been 3 years since beta-testing among priveledged Pyramix customers "under NDA restrictions" has started. Probably, Emotion sofware is still not on the mark...

Re: DSD output over Mykerinos AES/EBU - 4 links mandatory?
Thanks, for Your reply, Graemme! However, in Pyramix Settings (I guess, in Ovation & Emotion also), under MassCore one can choose either professional or consumer AES3 output format As for DSD Mapping there is an option, either Sony or P3D format. If you choose P3D than in the DSD routing tab ins...

DSD output over Mykerinos AES/EBU - 4 links mandatory?
Is the only way available to get stereo DSD stream out of Mykerinos AES/EBU DSD daughter card is DSD over PCM 16 bit 44.1kS/s samples packed into 4 AES/EBU links?
Thanks,
Dmitry
