DLL's missing, Pyramix cannot launch

Postby StephenMarsh » Sat Nov 18, 2017 03:47

Lap top rig, was running fine last month during AES, now I fire it up for another trip and I get the following DLL's missing so software cannot launch:

Woam.dll
CXLL18.dll
xChangeFacade.dll
LibGLA.dll

This is a Win10 system running 11.0.4. I tried uninstalling/reinstalling software to no avail.

Any ideas where to start?

Thanks--Steph

It sounds like the same windows 10 update problem discussed here.

viewtopic.php?f=14&t=13582

I am still on PMX 10.2 and it's been working with Windows 10 for months with no issues. 2 days ago my system launched but no projects were visable. Sometimes all I saw was a VU meter plugin on The screen. I uninstalled, reinstalled to no avail.
It occurred to me that the only thing that could have changed was a Windows update. I could not find any settings to roll back. Fortunately I had imaged my C drive about 2 weeks ago and after restoring to the SSD all is working again.
I discoverd that there is a way to change group settings that prevents Microsoft from automatically installing updates.

I Am tempted to air gap my PC and freeze it in time.

I hope you sort it out soon.

All the best.

Rick

Same problem here, Missing Dll etc.. :?
Just upgraded from 9 to 11 and bought a Windows 10 pro OEM version. The thing is, I can only download a Fall creator iso version from Microsoft, so no version 11 for me yet.
I was wise to keep my HD with the windows 7 pro antique 32bit version with Pyramix 9 running, I can work at least, but that is incredibly frustrating :|

Any whispers of an hotfix to have a v11 functionning with Fall creator ?

I did (what are the odds) bring along my 10 keys AND an install of 10.2 - which did eventually work (with some weirdness) so I got through the trip and delivered on time.

Not sure if I should rebuild this laptop clean to 1703 or just jump back to my W7P63 laptop for my next trip and revisit this one when merging has 1709 sorted with 11.

My main desktop rig here in LA is so bulletproof - and that's also w7p64 so I'm leaning towards just setting the win10 laptop aside for the moment til a hotfix comes along.

Hi,

Be aware that Pyramix 11.0 is not yet compatible with Windows 10 1709 (Fall Creator), as stated on our website :
http://www.merging.com/support/pc-config
IMPORTANT NOTE: Windows 10 Fall Creator currently not compatible with Pyramix/Ovation/VCube. Until this is resolved, please defer Windows updates.

A workaround for Native user with Windows 10 1709 is to start Pyramix (or Discwrite) in Administrator mode : right click on the Pyramix desktop icon and select Run as admin.

Sorry for the inconvenience,

Best regards,

Thank you for your answer Guillaume,

But in my very peculiar case, I can't go back to a version of windows I never had. And I am well aware it is stated on the website (I am not blaming merging here, I am just -very selfishly- stating my very specific issue !)
Any idea about the availability of the hotfix ? (even ballpark : days, weeks, months, ... ?)

Thanks

I'm also keenly interested as I'm about to upgrade a W7/32 system up to 64 and wanted to jump up to Win 10 in the process.

I have the same issue - you can avoid this issue by lauching Pyramix as administrator (right-clic on the PMX laucher and choose the proper option in the drop-down menu).

I still have issues with CPU consuption that seems high compared to V10 and busses that cannot be removed from an EDL without crashing the software but I don't know if they are related to the fact that I'm running the latest Windows version...

Hi ,
I also worked with Pyramix Native 11 on Win10 until..... Now after (fall creators) update, no function of Pyra anymore.
I cannot reset my Computer because a lot of software is also running on here and I have no image to go back to win 10 without Fall Creators update.
When do you have a solution for this problem ?????? Do you have another solution ????
best regards

Will it not even start for you?

I've used this trick with the two systems that have 1709 (one was a fresh install and the other brand new, where it's hard to get to 1706), and Pyramix runs on both.

Try to download missing dll files from the internet. For example from here. Then pasting it to a particular place of application. You can try that method, but you may not get any positive result from it.
The other option is to get them by simply copying it from fully functioning Pyramix systems.

The recently released Pyramix version 11.0.6 is supposed to fix the incompatibilities with Win10 1709.
