Various Color Scheme Themes

You know how WINDOWS lets you "personalize" your computer with different looks or themes?

I would love to see that for Pyramix.

Now hold on Rick. What in the world does the color of Pyramix have to do with making music or producing audio?

Well, nothing I guess. But here's what different color themes would, hopefully, solve for me. As the years go by, my eyes seem to be more sensitive to light. And as I have added more screens to spread my work space out, the more LCDs are shining in my face. Some days this can cause some discomfort.

In the project window I can change the background and waveform colors. I can change the desktop art on my Windows desktop. But that still leaves a fair amount of very white real estate for editor tabs ( i.e. media management, document libraries, etc)

By the way, I love the color in the mixing desk since Version 9. It just makes for a nicer work environment.

Presonus Studio One V3, recently launched has exactly what you want. Maybe Merging can take some ideas from it. They (Presonus) surely are taken ideas from others as well

I agree with you, too many white predominant windows make my eyes soar as well.

Merging don't even need to look beyond their own products for a better colour scheme: A V-Cube colour scheme for Pyramix would be a good start...

I agree, a colour reversed display would be most welcome on some days. You can obtain, or create, a Windows "High Contrast" Theme (Aero or Classic), but for the most part, Pyramix ignores those colour changes. There used to be a Pyramix "Skin" which was darker, but it was so buggy that it is no longer enabled (you can see its ghost in the Settings > Application > Desktop Layout page).

I've been lobbying Merging for years for some consideration for the vision impaired. The tiny text, in combination with my progressive bifocal lenses, is infuriating (I may have to check out some "Double-D" bifocals, which place a close focus area at the top of each lens, in addition to the one at the bottom). I found some relief by changing all display fonts found in the Windows Control Panel > Personalization > Window Color and Appearance > Advanced Appearance Settings, to Segoe UI Semi-bold 12, or even 14 point. Pyramix isn't 100% happy with this - some windows and tabs don't display correctly, but for the most part, I can read what I need to. Sadly, this still leaves me with all-white Windows and Tabs in Pyramix.

Agreed. I think that Merging really needs a GUI designer for a long time.

It's been over 2 years since I first posted this and would still love to see some movement on this.
I have not upgraded to version 11. i don't guess merging addressed a DARK theme in 11 did they?

I don't agree. More colour and wacky UI will degrade the UX significantly. It happened to Wavelab in a spectacular way. Users complained that the utilitarian but highly usable interface was not modern and wacky enough, so Phillipe responded. Now it is a nightmare to use. Its a computer program (ie. tool, like a hammer) not a kitchen appliance / lounge/ evening dress.
