BWF editor

Postby TBR » Wed Jul 29, 2009 12:44

Hello,

When I manually change file names in windows, mounting these files in Pyramix will show the original BWF name. This makes sense because I'm renaming the file name in windows, not the BWF name. But sometimes I want to rename the BWF name too, and not by hand, every 10 000 of them ;-)
Is there a way to do this? If not it would be great if there was a tool in Pyramix that let's you change the fields in the media manager. i.e.

BWF name = file name
or
notes = file name + scene number.

cheers/TBR

Merging already has the "MultiFileFixer" application for windows which is handy if a bit tricky, so one might think this feature could also be implemented within Pyramix. or perhaps something to edit the file headers. fwiw, i would also find it useful.

but to copy all the files to a mac, change the stuff you want to change (BWAV Writer doesn't seem to have a batch function nor can you say: "BWF name = file name ... ) and then put it back isn't what I had in mind ;-)

Hi,
IIRC this feature already kind of exists in media management / mounting rules at least for the displayed name. Not in front of the system at the moment but IIRC you can check the option to use the file name instead of the name from the bwf header.
Best

BWF-Widget Pro and MetadataTouch can also edit BWF metadata. The latter can also do it in batch (but can't automatically set BWF name = file name).

Yes, a tag editor for BWF files within Pyramix would be great!
