View whole paths in settings dialogues

If you're referring to the destination folder for Render or Mixdown operations, I'd certainly agree, although if you hover your mouse cursor over the field, the full path appears in a tooltip, but still, it's tough sometimes to see what is going where.

Similarly, in the Media Manager and CD/SACD tabs - you can drag certain fields wider, and change the order of the columns, but if you have to close and then re-open the tab, everything is back to where it was and you have to do it all over again. It would be nice if columns in tabs would stay put when you've adjusted them.

Sometimes paths can be very long. I don't mind part of the path disappearing, but I would prefer if the left side (start of the path) was truncated as opposed to the right side (end of the path):

So instead of seeing something like:

E:/2012 Projects/Client/ProjectName/...

I get something like:

...ojectName/Media/RefEditBounces/


Frank - I find that annoying with the media manager, cd, libraries etc... as well. While it's not a solution Dom pointed out to me that you can press "Ctrl +" in any of those windows to automatically resize all columns to the data present - which is much better than manually resizing each column.

Hmm, doesn't work here - possibly because I'm using a Mac keyboard, or because I have WizKeys installed which grabs a lot of Ctrl + [type the letter you want accented] codes. It doesn't appear to be either enabled or changable in the Keyboard Shortcuts window either. Ah, well...

Strange - must be related to something you have running. It's not a pyramix command which is why you don't see it in the shortcuts. It's just a standard shortcut for the grid control they use in those views. If you look at something like say the process manager in the windows task manager (which is the same grid control) and press "Ctrl +" the columns will auto resize.

Hmm, not here. Maybe that's a feature that came into being after XP, which is what I'm using. Or, perhaps it's a Bootcamp thing, since I've disabled the Apple keyboard driver to get rid of the massive DPC spikes it causes every fifteen seconds.

In any event, thanks for the tips, but it would still be nicer if Pyramix had some friendlier display capabilities for long file trees and other information which exceeds the stock field size.

I actually meant in the settings pages, where if you hover you still don't get to see nothing and can't resize anything.
