Delay compensation simplification

Postby Filmsat59 » Thu Aug 12, 2010 13:52

this may already be on the cards...

suggestion on the mixer to have a delay compensation mode on channel strips called "Auto". this would be the default mode
the manual Delay entry would be greyed out and set at zero.

This would assign the delay compensation setting on strip inputs to be "input" state, unless their strip input is an internal bus - whereby they would automatically reference to where that internal bus is connected to.

this would still leave the user to manually select delay compensation settings and fine tune them if they so wish.

Context is that setting up delay compensation especially on large mixers is very complex at the moment!
most of the sync issues we encounter are caused by incorrect delay compensation settings!
