Can a HAPI/HORUS be used as a digital router without any DA/AD Cards installed

Hello,

Is it possible to use the HAPI (in my case) as strictly a digital router without any DA/AD Cards installed? As an example, could one use the Ravenna/AES67 Ethernet Port as the primary signal Input to the HAPI and then use Aneman to route that Input stright out the AES/EBU Interface that comes standard on this unit to feed other external 2 channel consumer DAC's that have AES Inputs.

In a word, yes. You may be able to use ANEMAN for this. You can definitely route channels around via the Hapi / Horus / Anubis web interface, which is very easy to do! Last I did this years ago, you could only do this in blocks of eight channels. However I doubt that limitation still exists now that we have a smaller channel count device with Anubis. There may be some latency involved.

Thank you for your reply. This is good to hear and at some point I will give it a try.

My curiosity about this is just trying to understand all the capabilities of the unit which I dont have in my paws just yet. Next week will be when the fun begins

You can set Ravenna as input to the AES/EBU outputs directly in the HAPI in blocks of 8 channels.
