Hard Disk Database

Postby johndsadams » Wed Nov 07, 2012 17:51

I was wondering what people on the forum are using to inventory their hard disk archives. I have all these drives and desperately need to catalog the contents so I can keep track of what I have, search for projects, and know when to refresh the drives.

Does anyone have an Excel spreadsheet template they've be willing to share? I found a $20 app that converts drive contents to excel but it may be overkill.

Your thoughts and experience are appreciated.

Hi John,

I use 'Advanced File Organizer' from www.softprime.com. It works well and exports drive catalogues to HTML, so I can send them to clients who don't have Excel, etc.

What is the name of the Excel conversion app you mentioned?

Hope that you're well!
