Horus under stress

Postby DJS » Tue Feb 26, 2013 23:40

Some questions re Horus and Native using ASIO and standard ethernet connection.
1. What happens during recording if the network cable is unplugged, ie Horus loses contact with PC. Does audio still flow to a backup unit fed with the AES outputs uninterrupted?
2. Same but if PC crashes or loses power accidentally?
3. Can two PC's be attached to Horus and be redundant controllers?

As long as the IO are routed withinin the Horus, the IO is unaffected. Obviously if you are routing through Ravenna, the stream will be broken.
All the best,

So, if passing audio to AES outputs for backup, as well as over Ravenna to PC for storage through PMX, if PC goes down, backup audio to AES out is unaffected?

If so, this will be marvelous.
