Importing Shoutcast/Icecast Streams

Postby itpete » Thu Jun 06, 2019 06:56

Hi all,

Is there a way to import a stream as a Cue at all? I would like to program a certain Cue List to have a stream from a Shoutcast or Icecast2 server and then after a period of time fire off another cue to return to local audio files.

So basically, I would like to play local audio files most of the day, but then at around 7:00pm for an hour, play an IceCast2 or Shoutcast stream. Then at 8:00pm fire off a rule that stops the current Cue, then loads the next cue and starts playing audio files from my local machine again.

Any suggestions would be most appreciated.

OK I think I have it worked out. Installed Winamp (v5.8) and used the VB Audio Virtual Audio Cables. Routed the output of Winamp to the VB-Audio cable, then assigned that output to one of the strips in Ovation. Seems to be working ok, and I can call that strip anytime with a cue and a rule.

That's the best I could do for now.
