The Tango Has Landed

Postby RickTarrant » Wed May 16, 2012 21:47

FedEx delivered my Smart AV Tango yesterday!

I am very excited to have this interface for Pyramix. It took me a couple hours to get them playing nicely but so far so good.

I'd be curious to know how other tango users have programmed their edit panels.

Hello Rick,

Next week I am going to install my Ramses and Horus and like you I am very excited to see all set from Merging working togheter.

Thank you Jose.
I was able to get a Tango (UNO) that had been a demo unit in New York.
I don't mind driving last years model. I have a BMW with over 260k miles :)

This Tango appears to be built like a tank, which you don't see much any more. I love the faders and the jog wheel. Very smooth.

Thanks for the tips. I plan to reach out to a couple of documentary producers out there in TV land.

Good luck with your new toys... I mean tools!
I hope they help you be more creative and productive in less time.

Hi Rick

I have a Tango 1 and am very happy with it.

I have all my shortcuts and transport controls programmed to 20 buttons on the left. Remember you can add a command to the release of the button as well. For example with my clip gain button, I hold it down and that gives me the fader. After the change I just release the button as I have "enter" programmed to the release. I have my play/stop control on the "Custom" button and that falls nicely under my thumb.

So as I am working I have one hand over the 20 buttons and one hand on the mouse and thats all I use for most of my day.

Enjoy Tango.

Thanks Ric.

I'm assuming you're talking about the buttons on the lower LHS. Do you reprogram all 20? Do you use the Unity or Arm buttons?

Maybe we could do a Skype call sometime and find out what you have assigned where.

I'd love to find a way that made editing dialog less tedious.

Be well,

Rick
