hi there,
just made the switch to pyramix 7 yesterday, with a fresh install on my bootcamped win xp.
everything´s working fine so far except two things:
1. a message "Failed to save document" shows up every time pyramix is trying to autosave. the backup-folder is empty. i really need the autosave-function because unfortunately pyramix is not safe from crashing sometimes...
2. pyramix is unable to mount files which are bigger than 4 gb. that wasn´t the case with version 6, and i use the same harddrive (hfsj formatted). in another post it was said that´s not a pyramix-problem, but in my case nothing was changed except the update from version 6 to version 7, so it has to be a pyramix-bug.
i´d be thankful for any suggestions!

What are you using to access the HFS+ formatted drives from Windows? MacDrive? (what version?) Bootcamp 3?
What audio file format are you trying to save? WAV? PMF? AIFF?
Don't WAV files have a 4 GB limit?

Re: Failed to save document / large files missing
yes, i use the latest version of macdrive 8 on bootcamp 3.2
it´s a pmf-file which was recorded during a live-concert: 8 tracks for about 70 minutes, 24/96, so the resulting pmf-file has a size of about 9 GB.
as i said, everything was done under pmx 6. i recorded on my laptop, but opened and worked on the project succesfully in my studio as long as i had pmx 6. after the update, the file is not seen anymore.

Re: Failed to save document / large files missing
hi there,
now i copied the file from the hfsj-disc to a ntfs-formatted disc - and suddenly pmx has no problem seeing it. so the issue is between pmx and macdrive.
dear merging, please adress this bug in a future update. it worked with pmx 6, so it shouldn´t be that big of a problem.
thanks,
ulrich
by the way...
any suggestions to the "failed to save document"-issue?

Experiencing the same problem with pmx 7 sp2 (running on win XP sp3) using HFS+ formatted raid with macdrive.
Kind regards,

Re: Failed to save document / large files missing
I'm not recommending this- it just works for me. I've stopped relying on Macdrive. I have windows drives, and Mac drives. With gig ethernet, it's so fast to copy files between systems. When I'm ready to edit on Pyramix, I just pull a copy.
The other aspect is that I've developed some very flexible Applescripts that I use for re-naming files into Pyramix format.
As I say, it works for me. YMMV

Re: Failed to save document / large files missing
Thanks for the reply.
We're using shared storage (iSCSI raid) with other rooms running macs and it would be nice to keep all files on the same system (and not move files all the time)..
This only affects autosave - "failed to save document". We used paragon hfs for win before without this issue. The reason for changing was because with Paragan all the file dates changed when moved.
Would be nice with some Merging feedback.
Thanks!
