touchscreen, DX, ASIO, rewire topics

Postby Earendil » Sun May 11, 2003 00:25

Hi, I work in a large postproduction facility downtown Hilversum, Netherlands. We are changing daws and are seriously considering going for PMX. But before we do, I would like to toss some topics that are not entirely clear to us (and hopefully get some answers?)

1. Being diehard DAR-users we strongly prefer a tactile interface (touchscreen) as opposed to mouse/trackerball/ pen. Anybody ever tried working with PMX and a touchscreeen? (such as Wacom Cintic.) If so, with what results?
2. Are there ASIO-drivers available (preferably multiclient (!)) allowing us to work with whatever package available? If so, do we need to adjust the IO-properties of the Mykernos each time we want to work in a different environment?
Or is it better to buy a second audiocard?
3. To what extent is the PMX-system capable of running DX and VST plug-ins? Is it fully or just partly compatible?
4. Are there any plans of implementing the AAF-fileformat? With what priorities?
5. Will PMX be compatible with rewire thus allowing us to interface with Reason?

Thanks in advance,

Earendil
