SACD Authoring - uncompress?

Postby imdsum » Thu Jan 25, 2018 12:38

HI,
For SACD Single Layer process, Stereo material of less than 60 mins in length. While Compression is not nesccessary.
Is there a setting which can adjust the compression ratio (or remove it) from DST encode in SACD Cutting Master process?

Best Regards

Basically,

"No."

It would involve decoding and re-encoding the CMF (CMF>DST>DSDIFF>Different DST Settings>DST>CMF). In the SACD manufacturing process there is no further data processing of the CMF. It's considered to be an 'ISO' image intended for replication. There are security features added but those have been circumvented a while ago now ;->

For stereo-only SACD (doesn't matter if hybrid or single layer) there is no need to use DST compression unless the smaller file size is for some reason important to you.
