Pyramix pmf/wav recovery tool

Postby joelgordon » Wed Mar 15, 2017 05:44

Wondering if the pmf/wav recovery tool still exists somewhere and, if so, where I might get it. I'm running Mass Core as well as Native Pyramix 9.1.7
My otherwise extremely stable system (running Native at the time) appeared to be recording but, on stopping the recording, it became clear that it actually had stopped a while back (about 15 minutes earlier, to be precise). I'm hoping the recovery tool might be able to recover the remainder of this file.
Thanks for any and all help on this.

There is a specific recovery tool for different versions of Pyramix, and whether or not the computer is/was running on a 32 or 64 bit system. To make sure you get the proper tool for your specific requirement, contact support@merging.com.

If it's been a while since you used the tool, make sure to review the instructions, as it's not the friendliest interface and it's crucial to enter the correct values to the proper fields, while at the same time, leaving other fields untouched. Be sure to work with a copy of your file, as it frequently takes more than one attempt to get things right.

Thanks Frank - will do. Yes, its been about 5 years and I remember the arcane little dance one had to execute --- but it did work nicely.

Just remember that you have to use the Recovery Tool that is appropriate for the version and x86 or x64edness that was running while you were recording, so if you're like me and you have one version of Pyramix running on the machine you use for location sessions, and another for post-production back home, you pretty well have to do the recovery on the machine you used for recording.

Yes, and thanks for the reminder. I sent a note to Merging support and hopefully they'll be able to point me in the direction of the proper recovery tool
