Pyramix Crashes with Steven Slate TRIGGER 2

Postby francoiscaste » Tue Nov 18, 2014 17:34

Hello!
I just bought yesterday an Ilok2 and Steven Slate Trigger2 EX on the Slate website and
I have problem when trying to put Trigger 2 on a track (stereo). It makes the DAW crashing.
Works well with the demo version of Trigger 1.( 32bit). I know Pyramix 8 Masscore is only 32 bit compatible so I installed the 32 bit plug in version. But It still freezes when puting the plug.
But Trigger 2 works fine on an Ableton Live installed on my computer.
Do you know a compatibility problem with Pyramix ?
It's quite URGENT, I'm working on an important mix..
THANKS

Bonsoir,

Cordialement,
Bernard

Bonjour,

Vous pourrez noter que dans la version "demo" de trigger, il n'y a pas la fonction midi in out...

Pyramix n'est pas conçu pour utiliser des instruments virtuels, ou des effets midi.

Bien cordialement,

Bernard

Pyramix is not compatible with midi or virtual instruments :D

Best regards

Hello!

Another strange thing, Trigger 2 works well in the MTR FX Rack (Vb audio) in rendering mode and still not in the virtual console...

I know it's not compatible with midi, for a reason I ignore, but I'm not sure it's the real issue.

Thanks,

Francois

Hi,
the reason is : Pyramix was not designed to be compatible with midi. It was designed to work with audio only. it is possible that in the future midi function is added, but now, it's not possible.

Best regards,

Just a follow up on this subject. I understand that PMX is not compatible with midi and virtual instruments as it never has been. BUT, I've been using Slate Trigger 1 very successfully for over a year in 32 Bit with PMX V8.1.11. It's the best drum replacement out there.

I then upgraded everything to 64 Bit, PMX V9.1.8. Slate Trigger 2 is 64 Bit compatible, so I installed that. Now, crashes happens just as with others. So, I removed Trigger 2 from the plugins folder and placed Trigger 1 into a the same folder. I'm also running JBridge. I created a '32 Bit Plugins' folder within the 64 Bit plugins folder. Used the JBridge manager to created the new Trigger file within the '32 Bit Plugins' folder.

Trigger 1 is now working with PMX. I still get occasional crashes when accessing the Trigger window, but once I get it set, I don't need to access it anymore.

I think the problem is not PMX but with Slate. I suspect that Trigger 2 has a Midi/Virtual Instrument identifier that Trigger 1 doesn't have. The next step would be to install the 32 Bit version of PMX v9.1.8, no Jbridge, and install the 32 Bit version of Trigger 2. If it still crashes, then the problem is definitely Slate, and we should be speaking with them.

Further investigation on Slate Trigger. Seems that JBridge is not needed for Trigger 1. It has a 64 bit version with the installation. Maybe Slate will sell you Trigger 1..?
