Set up ISIS on a dedicated network card - Vista or Win7

Postby David Jacques » Tue Nov 16, 2010 15:33

First follow the procedure described in ISIS manual to set a static IP address on ISIS and your network card.
Windows Vista & 7,are assigning priorities to the different networks connected, so Pyramix needs an extra step to correctly detect and use ISIS on a dedicated network card.
Go in Windows Control Panel > Network & Sharing center >
Manage network connections(Vista) / Change adapter settings (Win7).
On the ISIS dedicated LAN card :
Proprerties > Internet Protocol V4 (TCP/IPv4)
Advanced : Untick the option Automatic Metric and set the value to 1.
On your « regular » network card :
Proprerties > Internet Protocol V4 (TCP/IPv4)
Advanced : Untick the option Automatic Metric and set the value to 2.
De-activate and re-activate both cards to make sure the settings are correctly updated (right click on each card > Disable, then Enable)
