HD compression codecs

Postby feaker » Fri Jun 30, 2006 20:16

I'd like to be able to injest HDcamSR into a decklink card on a final cut system. What compression codec can I use to make this happen. I assume that DVCPro HD isn't an option.

Hello Freaker,

HDcam-SR is a recording format requiring 600 Mb/s with 4:4:4 color sampling
see: http://vcube.merging.com/Pages/Help/HDT ... Media.html
If you don't want a lossy ingest, the only solution is uncompressed 4:4:4 dual-link. All other solutions will produce a quality reduction, so DVCPRO-HD can be an option.
