AAC/M4P rendering

Postby HellvisPresley » Sun Feb 14, 2016 18:37

Greetings, all:

Just wondering if anyone can inform as to why the included codec in V9x Native for AAC rendering is dated from 2001?? Are we supposed to spend even more money for a third party plugin to do simple conversions for delivery?

Where are you finding the information regarding the date?

I've never had any issue with AAC files created in Pyramix, nor have any of the clients to whom I have sent them. These days, I am recommending Quicktime player to my clients who are going to be making editing decisions from a bunch of takes, so I'm frequently supplying two track mixes in this format.

If you feel that you cannot trust Pyramix's AAC conversion, there are any number of free utilities which can perform the task, including the free version (which is to say, what remains enabled after the Trial period expires) of dbPoweramp - https://www.dbpoweramp.com/install/dMC- ... -Trial.exe, which, incidentally, can also convert from most common formats (WAV, FLAC...) to Apple Lossless - something I wish was included in Pyramix.
