V9.1 reinstalling itself ?

Postby RickTarrant » Tue Sep 23, 2014 00:34

It seems like every couple of days Pyramix decides to re-install itself. I haven't been able to detect a pattern as of yet.

Any one else seeing this behavior?

Thanks

Rick

Have a look at this thread, and see if there are similarities:

Try re-installing or repairing with your Anti-virus and any Anti-malware turned off.

Personally, I had no end of trouble getting 9.1.4 to launch, once installed. My theory is that all the networking stuff for Ravenna requires that your Windows Firewall and Group permissions be just right.

Well, that is very interesting. As it turns out I also had Avast installed. I suspected that it might be the culprit, so I uninstalled it, rebooted, and Pyramix automatically reinstalled.

I'll keep my fingers crossed.

BTW, I installed AVira for my anti-virus. I hope it will leave PMX alone.

I've had good luck with Microsoft Security Essentials. Free and relatively unobtrusive. I found Avira's constant nagging got wearing.
