Hi Mark, I've been using a PCMCIA Magma with a single Mykerinos card in a Lenovo T60 to record up to 24 tracks at 44,1kHz since a while and never had too much problems. I've had a few issues during playback but never during recording even when running 24 tracks. My guess is that Magma's PCI Express ...

Code page error???

Hi all, I'm having problems opening a Pyramix project that was edited on a French Canadian system using an English system. Pyramix tells me that the EDL was "formatted" using Code 437 but the system is in Code 850 or something like that. Any insight on how to fix this problem? I'm quite co...

Hello Mark, In my experience from various classical sessions, I found that using the numeric portion of the keyboard, I've always been able to very quickly stop, validate and restart the recording process using the "0", Numeric Enter and Numeric "." keys. With a symphony orchestr...

Re: Inserting silence

Hello, I believe Max wants to start editing a project that is currently in record mode - Sequoia is known for being good at that. Unless I am wrong, I think that the Digitizing session can only be used to record material in the background while enabling you to work on an other project. Editing a fil...

Forget abotu the broken french accents... I guess the computer on which I opened the TOC file had some issues since the TOC file looks fine on my Pyramix workstation.

Delay compensation and french caracters broken in version 5?

Hi all, I'm wondering if I am the only one experiencing this problem. When mastering a stereo recording, I often use an AUX bus to send the stereo mix to a compressor (Strip Tools) and then inject that back in the mixer - therefore both the original and the compressed version are summed to the stere...

Hi Mark, Thanks for the link about the USB to RS-232 cable. My IBM laptop is a T42 with a Pentium M 1.7GHz processor. About the Magma, I made a mistake since it's a four slot model, not three and you can find the info at the following URL : http://www.mobl.com/expansion/products/cardbus_expansion/cb...

Hello Mark, I have a similar setup (IBM laptop with Magma chassis and 24 channels of AES I/O). If I understand correctly you need is 24 channels of TDIF I/O. For this, all you will use is one PCI slot for the Mykerinos board and two extra mounting brackets to host the extra DB25 connectors. If you a...

Re: DDP Creation?

Hello Brian,

Check in the MT Security Settings software and see if the "DDP Support" entry has permanent validity. Otherwise, you need to buy the option in order to create DDP files - you'll then see "DDP Folder" in the target selection menu of Discwrite.

Cheers,

Snapshot automation recall ?

Hi all, I've been trying to automate the recall of mixer snapshots without luck. Is there any way to recall mixer snapshots according to a specific time code location? I usually mix various classical concerts for the radio that only require a fixed mixer state for each piece on the program so that f...
