Re: Ver 7 SP2 Questions?

Hi Ricardo, Thanks for the info re. FLAC and the Album Publishing feature. I confess I haven't yet made the move to v7; sorry to say that I've tried too many PMX updates which have been buggy or had interesting 'feature' additions in the past, and resolved to let others find out about them and have ...

Re: Audio Controller Apps

Yes, this would be great.
Or just a display of the Monitor Controller section + Transport would be pretty nifty as an iPad app (even iPhone?)

Re: 4gb files are missing in Pyramix 7

I strongly suspect PMX. A colleague came to me the other day with just this problem from his new PMX v7, Merging-built machine; PMF files on an external hard disc - his PMX wouldn't see the files. My PMX v5 machine worked with them no problem :) . We tried all the usual trashing the QuickMount file ...

Re: Ver 7 SP2 Questions?

Sorry, no - I meant that clients often request MP3 copies of masters (and more often of edit versions on the way through the process). It would be nice to be able to do this stably and reliably within the PMX environment, without having to trek out of it... (I have also in the past been sent MP3 fil...

Re: Ver 7 SP2 Questions?

Hi JW, Interesting reason... If so, I find that a little irritating; PMX is supposed to be a high-end, professional application - and mastering in one of the most popular formats really should not be an issue. Merging have had plenty of years to work out how to do it, pay for any licenses required, ...

Re: Ver 7 SP2 Questions?

If using MP3 export be warned of this. Merging supports the DirectShow technology for Ingest (Import, Playback) only. Merging does not guarantee the full support of MP3 encoding (Digest) accuracy. Hi Ricardo, The above concerns me. I thought MP3 support in PMX v7 was supposed to be much improved an...

Re: reNOVAtor not launching on some sessions

Hi David,
I've experienced something similar. I don't recall it being project related (and definitely not length of selection related), but every now and then it won't open. Trying again a few times sometimes solves it, otherwise quite PMX and restart (if not reboot) has done the trick thus far!

Windows 7, Pyramix 6

Hi all, Should Pyramix 6 run on Windows 7? And if so, is there a preferred variant of Win.7? I've tried an install on a clean, new machine with just PMX on top of the basic Windows 7 Home Premium, and it's not terribly happy. After starting PMX, Microsoft informs me that Pyramix has stopped function...

yes, or CTRL-Click the relevant track within the grouped tracks, and only it will be highlit. The alter the level/volume "washing line" / envelope to suit. Of course, if you want to do it for more than one track - say two sides of a pair or two adjacent mics, then you have to perform the w...

Re: Pyramix Monitor Section

Tim's suggestion of the Grace is a good one, but it's kinda pricey... For just over half that money you can get a Benchmark DAC1, which I used for a while. The practical issue is that headphones (two outputs) and speakers are controlled by the same volume pot.. My workaround was to have the DAC1 on ...

Re: Pyramix Monitor Section

I use the software monitor quite a lot. You can assign a key shortcut to display/hide it, so it's always very easy to call up. I tend to do a lot of mixing internally in PMX, but then with external hardware plugged up. If you run several stereo buses in your mixer then you can use the monitor contro...

Re: Native behavior with Mykerinos card

Benoit, Mario, In fact there is a practical reason to run a Mykerinos card with Pyramix Native: latency. You may often find if using 3rd party hardware with Pyramix Native (eg RME cards) that there is too great a latency to route things the way you might wish in a live session situation, especially ...

Re: Delaying tracks when recording large ensembles?

Hi Kjetil, To add to good information already on this thread: - when doing this, I too adopt the clap / woodblock / box method. I think it's the difference in the time of arrival between the source at the spot and at the main array that's important, rather than the measured distance between micropho...

Re: clip snapping

There's a shortcut! try holding down 'H' key while you drag. clips will then snap to cursor, and to other clips ends/beginnings. Hope that's what you're after Andy And there's another: H snaps the head of the clip to the nearest object (cursor, tail of the previous clip, in or out marker) T snaps t...
