CD Import

Does anyone have any issues wth importing from CD? I've been experiencing the following: On importing from a CDR, in the resulting audio of some tracks, in quieter passages I get odd spikes, and particularly occasional 'chick chick chick' noises - like the sound of the CD going round in the drive no...

Roland - good point, I hadn't considered that. I thought that if there were ASIO drivers for the MYK cards then maybe (just maybe...) it could be made to work. I guess that it would be OK with Native (incidentally, I'm pretty certain Native relies on WDM, not ASIO), but of course Native only deals w...

In that case I shall find a day spare to take my Plex.Premium out of the case and fiddle with it as a firewire device again and see if I can get it working.

Thanks,

PMX with Mackie Onyx / FireWire

The new Mackie small mixing desks, the Onyx range, feature an optional A/D card with FireWire output. This card delivers all mixer channels + LR to a DAW, and will take a stereo monitor feed back to the desk. In theory, it claims to work with all DAW software which interfaces with WDM or ASIO driver...

Indeed they are in the mixer strip - I'm with my PMMX now, so I thought I'd let you know the correct menu selections rather than my guess recollections above! Right clicking almost anywhere in the channel strip will allow you to select either 1. VST Plug-in --> Add --> SIR_1008 (if you're running th...

Phaseboy - from my reading of this thread, you would expect to get the result you got (ie both cancel out completely) because both are generated images / mixdowns / renders - one made in real time and one not. As I understand it, the quality comparison isn't between a real time vs non-real time rend...

Gerhard... 1. To load SIR... in the mixer, on the (stereo) channel strip through which the signal you want to apply reverb to is routed, right click above the fader / below the pan pot (asuming your mixer is configured as default). You should get a menu, and you can select something like Add -> Effe...

Michael G - you mention you are using SIR, and can use a Concertgebouw sample with it. Do you use the Cgbw sample with it often? If so, perhaps you can help... [Forum: Sorry if this is not really a PMX question, but it's fairly relevant I think...]. I've downloaded SIR and the Concertgebouw IR - aft...

Silas - Thanks for the suggestion. I have used the rpesets, but like youirslef hadn't worked out how to set them. I often edit without the text-based control panel open - it's be nice to have some single click icons for the presets if users wanted them (top right of the fade window anyone?) - rather...

Fade Editor - Default Zoom level

I've been using Pyramix for a little while now, mainly for editing classical music - and thus I use the fade window a lot. However, the fade window is always opens a fade zoomed right in. Could Merging consider introducing a simple feature - a user-definable default zoom level (or better, series of ...
