Re: Mobile control room work

Have you considered DirectOut's Producer.Com ? http://www.directout.eu/en/products/producer.com.html Can be used with Ravenna, I believe. Along with the remote control, would give you - talkback mic input and control (to go to loudspeakers in the live area) - two telephone loops (one for the conduct...

Re: Multiple CDs / versions workflow

Likewise; I'd just Save As with a appropriate filename to identify.
Quickest and simplest!
(I always fear a risk of having too many unwanted audio tracks might see one go unmuted during a final mix down / CD image generation...)

Re: New take without going out of record

Oh, yes please. Please.

As above - Boom Recorder does this (and Frank's buffer) elegantly, same scenario for PMX would be very useful.

... which I think you can copy across using "Use Track Title for CD Text Track Title" or a similar command in the CD tab.

Re: Swappable mixers for mastering

Hi Frank, That's good to know, thanks. It remains a PITA of a workaround for something which was working just fine years ago, and for no good reason has disappeared. . . Per - I rather like Altiverb on the occasions I've used it, it's more a Pyramix integration issue than a problem with the plug-in ...

Re: Ekport Stereofile from Pyramix session

Somewhat simpler: 1. Save the project with a new name. 2. Delete all tracks except 1&2 (the LR mics you wish to export) 3. Select all clips, choose "Render", and render the lot as WAV files, selecting 'Split by Selection' That should do it into individual wavs named as per the take nam...

Re: Swappable mixers for mastering

Dear Merging folk - this is a complex way to have to solve a simple problem. Of course, back in Pyramix version 5, the user could just store complete mixer settings in the Library, and drag'n'drop on to the mixer surface - without delay or time-penalty to reconstruct the mixer (I exclude VST plugins...

Re: Dealing with overs

Couldn't you just take the mixed stereo file (with clip in that makes it hit 0), and then nudge the Gain of the clip down -0.1dB, render it, and the job's done - you've got the musical result you wanted, and any inspection software gets a file which has 0.1dB of headroom, guaranteed.?

VSTs in PMX7 - live signal?

Hello chaps (& -esses, of course), I was under the impression that in Pyramix v7, VST plugins should work [a] on busses as well as channel strips; and [b] with live input signal (i.e. not only pre-recorded material); but a colleague thinks otherwise. Is this the case? Or does this only work for ...

Re: External HDs

HIghly recommend the Avastores. Being able to rapidly take the enclosure apart and pop a different drive in - with no tools required - has been useful on more than one occasion, and I'm a big fan of keeping all gear with IEC power connectors. Another little thing that makes life a bit less complicat...

True, but it's too easy to hit "save" first, and then... oops.

+1 for the option not to have it in the timeline if so desired.

(mind, MixDown... Split Selection By Groups would be kinda handy too...)

Re: what denoiser ?

Yes. Indeed, within the spectral editor as well as demonising you can copy/paste... so you can copy another note or part of the work like you currently do, but only across that part of the frequency spectrum the noise is in, which can make it work where it previously didn't (because the ambience was...

Re: what denoiser ?

Hi Frank, I'm not sure quite what you mean. NOVA isn't a VST plugin, and I don't think it is available as a VST. It is, though available to use as a standalone application in Windows, if you were to be using a DAW that doesn't support it. (ReNOVAtor is integrated into Pyramix, and very nicely so. As...

Re: what denoiser ?

Very happy with Algorithmix's ReNOVAtor here (and NoiseFree is occasionally useful).
The tight integration with Pyramix is very good - makes workflow rapid and simple!
