Re: Horus interface

Hi, I'm curious about the realtime performance of Ravenna, have never seen any specs yet. Streaming performance over one Gigabit Ethernet port, how many channels can it handle reliably? And additional processing delay... Also the AD and Mic Preamp specs are of great interest, once the device is fina...

Probably not. Sphynx2 AD/DA converters are DAD units with a Merging faceplate.

Horus looks like it comes from the same lineage, but only Merging would know atm.

I don't get it either. It's like having a Ferrari but putting bicycle wheels on it...

Does Crookwood eventually have the MADI card available? I was looking into their remote preamps, but the MADI card was not available last year.

Nice little video Claude Cellier made at the IBC. Good luck Merging with this.
Unfortunately the preproduction units shown at IBC do have a fan...

Re: Pyramix 8 - What do You Need More?

Mixer snapshots without rebuild! Those are ever missed since they disappeared with V5. I still don't understand how anyone could have thought about killing that important feature. We need mixer snapshots, a straight forward simple UI for storing/managing/recalling them and an easy way of choosing wh...

Re: Some mastering questions...

The original plan for 'album publishing' was "edit audio and enter metadata once...deliver to many." Not sure exactly what's happened with respect to that... gb If album publishing was important in any way, it would have a name from Egyptian mythology. :D Let's call it "Nut" (th...

Re: Anyone using Intel DZ68DB motherboard ?

Z68 has no native PCI support apparently, which means your MB4/5 boards will not work reliably. http://www.merging.com/pages/pcconfig Important Note regarding some 'Sandy Bridge' Intel chipset-based motherboards (specifically P67 and H67) Merging does not recommend any of its Pyramix and/or Ovation ...

Re: Horus interface

I wonder how you guys do it, I couldn't conclude all this from looking at the backside of a pre-production prototype that also appears to be modular expandable. Maybe the video sync is in the serial DB9 connector. Ehtercon would be nice but there probably are space constraints. Look at all the other...

Hi Ricardo,

it's nice to bypass, but what about going back to previous state? In real world users want to toggle between a certain FX setup and 'all bypass'.

Re: Euphonix MC Mix snapshots during record

It's a big regression indeed, that we can't do mixer snapshots anymore. The immediate snapshots were essential not only for live recording but also for AB comparisons in mixing&mastering. Problem is: Programmers that are not working in the field and do not understand what we pestering users want...

Re: Some Newb Questions

... 2. When I use the "edit fade near cursor" command, unless I have all the clips on my multitrack project grouped when I open the fade editor I only get one track in the fade editor. So far I've worked around this by just making sure I group all the clips on both sides of the fade. Even...
