Re: Clever breath removal

"Why?" Client wants it that way. Not sure why. My approach was also to just take out the first ones or generally the annoying ones, and leave the rest natural. Same also in singing contexts. I guess in this case, they have mistaken the 30 sec radio-ad aesthetic with that of a narration. S...

Re: Heptacon

It was that obvious...or else I wouldn't have mentioned it. 'Ruined' may just be a poor choice of words for a public discussion...but it wasn't pretty and clearly compromised when compared to both the DSD source and the 'flat dither' version. I can't explain it (especially at 24 bit resolution) but...

Re: Heptacon

... I recall a recent dither shootout where DSD files were used as the source and the target was 88K2/24 bit PCM. The POWr-2 algorithm pretty much ruined the stereo image. Boring, unfashionable flat dither sounded most like the source. Not a scientific test; ... Hi Graemme, 24 bit dither "ruin...

Re: Refreshing/Resetting VST Plugin List or Registrations

Gentlemen, could you give a brief bestiary if the upgrade is worth it and why? What about Ozone5 Advanced?
Thanks

Re: Horus interface

The beauty of DSP based systems was that regarding latencies they were hands off 'inside the box' and reliable. If now in the future we have to "optimize" networks etc. in order to get low latencies and reliability, what have we gained? Let's see...

Re: Horus interface

The regular dongle can hold all the keys, so why not also the masscore key? Anything else will look like a way to force the purchase of their IO Until now Mykerinos hardware guaranteed a certain very low latency. It is premature to speculate how that main advantage works out in favor of Ravenna bas...

As for the masscore dongle, I think that would have to be seriously reconsidered.

How? Mykerinos is the 32-bit OS dongle. Horus will be the 64-bit OS dongle. What do you expect them to do differently? To port Masscore to Native?

Re: Horus interface

I am assuming that my ravenna enabled Directout converter (producer.com) will be able to take the place of the horus for madi IO to pyramix (madi/ravenna format conversion) I would not rely on that, AFAIK producer.com does only process 8 Ravenna audio channels, but if that is due to hardware limita...

Re: Dither Agony

I would go out on a limb and speculate she liked the noise from more level the 8th order has around 9 kHz - perceived as a pseudo brilliance - more than the cleaner an warmer MBit dither. Either way it would be an extremely subtle effect.

Re: Dither Agony

It would be interesting to know her listening system. Headphones or Speakers?
And also her audiograms, but that's hard to get probably :-)

Re: Not as out of date as I thought...

There are a couple of limited applications that make 4.1 a better tool than later versions, particularly in music live recording environments. For instance -applying mixer snapshots instantaneously and during playback/recording without rebuilds -non-destructive solo bus by default -low Mykerinos DSP...

Interesting, what were your exact dither settings in both cases?

Re: Marks attach to audio permanently

I wonder how Sonic did it. B. It was pretty simple: If you had audio in a timeline, and moved the audio, the markers would move along with the audio. If you had markers in the source panel, and you did a source-destination edit, the markers would appear in the same position in the destination relat...

Re: Marks attach to audio permanently

One and a half years later still no progress on this front. Markers locked to audio and moving with copied audio (e.g. in S-D editing) are needed badly by many for many years. Could the priority of this please be raised to the highest level? We need to keep 1.) locked to timeline markers (mostly use...
