Re: SD Project, Dealing with Destination on Completion

There is really no such thing as an SD Project. It is just a normal project that has some number of Source and Destination groups. Most people work with one of each, or multiple source and one destination. Sometimes I do work with multiple source and multiple destination if I have for example an orc...

Re: SD Project, Dealing with Destination on Completion

Hi David, The thing I suspect you are running into is that linking markers to a group really means nothing more than they show up in that group. When you create a cd image (or do a mixdown) what you're going to get is what you would hear if you hit play. So I imagine that you had the source group se...

Re: These damned spam posts

Preston if you're really concerned about that on the forums you can just go to the user control panel and check to not display images in posts. The way the systems you're mentioning work is very simple: A link to an image in placed in an email, thread, etc... When the email is opened (assuming you h...

Sounds about right - it was around $300US when I bought it which was a couple of years ago.

Re: Avid Artist Control Surface

I use the artist mix and I really like it. It's straightforward to set-up and works well - plus it also works well with pro-tools if you're switching back and forth.

You need the Oasis Economy key.

Re: Mac Pro 8-core Westmere, RME HDSPe MADI, PMX8

I can't speak for your specific set-up but I run pyramix under windows 8 (pyramix 7 - have not been able to get 8 running under win8 yet) and windows 7 on both a mac mini and mbp and switch back and forth between osX and Win using both pyramix and pro-tools. Pyramix native runs well on both machines...

Re: SafeNet key just died

I do not know about the specific sentinel keys merging uses, but some safenet hardware keys are available with a battery and clock (date not audio) so that the key does not need to rely on the computers date/time. I'm glad Dennis got your sorted out - I do wish Merging had a better system (something...

Re: Native + Laptop with Nvidia graphics...

I don't think there's any problem with Nvidia and native - I've certainly not had any problems. As far as I know all the graphic card related issues with pyramix are to do with masscore.

Re: windows 8?

I'm running Pyramix Native 7.1 on Windows 8 - not doing anything massive, but haven't had any problems so far - I've had the RTM Win 8 build for about 6 weeks. Essentially the desktop side of windows 8 is windows 7 so I wouldn't expect there to be any problems.

Re: View whole paths in settings dialogues

Strange - must be related to something you have running. It's not a pyramix command which is why you don't see it in the shortcuts. It's just a standard shortcut for the grid control they use in those views. If you look at something like say the process manager in the windows task manager (which is ...

I might not have been clear - the "+" is the "+" symbol on your numeric keypad.

Re: View whole paths in settings dialogues

Sometimes paths can be very long. I don't mind part of the path disappearing, but I would prefer if the left side (start of the path) was truncated as opposed to the right side (end of the path): So instead of seeing something like: E:/2012 Projects/Client/ProjectName/... I get something like: ...oj...

Hi Larry,

Are you by any chance running the beta of v8? This sounds like a bug that Graemme reported. Check the beta forums.

Re: Mytek Stereo192-DSD

Actually Paolo - Mytek does have a new"ish" DAC that is the Stereo192-DSD dac with USB. It is aimed at the audiophile playback market primarily, and claims to support playback of DSD files via the USB port. I haven't tried one myself, but it does exist. (I would expect DSD playback to be u...
