easy&fast way: project/mixdown/processing: non real time. complicated way: configure your pmx mixer outputs, loop the outputs (by wire) back to some additional inputs of your mixer, configure these inputs for recording to two tracks and mute the output of the inputs to avoid feedback, config the...

Hi mik If you're sure you have to arrange your major workflow with an apple, my personal opinion is to stay in that domain. My decision for PMX was exactly to do everything with one tool and to keep serialization of the editing, mixing, mastering process as low as possible (because time saving is re...

It's probably just a question of resources: supporting two OS takes more deveolpment and testing power of a company without increasing sales in the same amount. If you could choose between an advanced software running on one OS or an average software running on two OS, what's your choice....? From m...

Hi,

OK. If you look for plugs, I'd try the SIR convolution VST reverb. M3000 and many more impulse responses are available. See

As already mentioned in this forum, I propose TC's Reverb4000 for Pyramix (external, of course). Since it features ADAT lightpipe I/Os, you can use it directly on ports 9-16, where 1-8 are still available for DUAII or others. Furthermore it has all the famous reverb algorithms of the 3000, 5000 and ...

Sorry, channel inversion is probably the wrong word: should be LR channel swap (or flip?)

Re: MS Encoder vs MS Strip

Hi, I was using the ms strip and had to invert the phase on my side mic. I used the waveform properties window to flip the phase for the side mic waveform. The phase sounded correct when I soloed the ms strip but not correct at the stereo output. I switched to the new ms encoder plugin on a stereo ...

Yes, you're right. The description of Scopein Research's Timezone has been lost after v4.0. The manual is 10 MB! If it's not downloadable for you, I could send it.

...me too! DSP or Native regarding power is only one side. In general, native systems have improved last years due to increased CPU power, no question. But don't forget the I/O possibilities! A DAW is only as good as the I/O's! With Mykerinos you have a lot of I/O options, low latency and additional...

Hi Jimmy

This is primarily a tech forum and your question is more sales related. It seems, Merging's sales guys are not surfin' this forum. Why not talking directly to your dealer?

Sorry, Gabriel

Dithering to 24 bits, yes, but no noise shaping. Dither has to be applied for every rendering or mixdown process, which leaves the system or is recorded to disc. Noise shaping only in the final step to CD 16 bit.

Sorry, I don't understand. What do you mean with straight dump in? Personally, I prefer to transfer Tascam tapes using the Pyramix Digitizer, since it uses minimum DSP power. However, it should work seamless also directly in the mixer/editor window. If you try to use the Digitizer, could you hear au...

Did you use the Digitizer or the Mixer to transfer your tape into PMX?
