Large zoom out: some clips don't show waveform

When I zoom out (to about 70 min. a couple 100 edits) in the composition, some clips don't show their waveform. There are definitely some pixels left so it's not a screen resolution problem. It's nothing serious, but it looks rather weird/scary. Is this a known issue ? (Pyramix native on MacBook, 24...

Hi all, This issue/improvement is already present in our Database, known as MT000787. We'll raise the priority for it. Good news, thank you ! Do some of you want to keep the current behavior and in addition have a Global auto-scale option? Or we should simply change the behavior to Global auto-scal...

Auto-Scale Waveform, different scales per clip ?

When I use Auto-Scale Wavevorm (in order to conveniently display low-level sounds) it appears that every single clip is scaled individually. This causes the waveform of some very low level clips, like room-tone, to be blown up out of proportion. Is this normal behaviour, is it a bug, or have I overl...

There are so many things a client can do wrong in the settings of a program like Nero or Toast (mainly inserting pauses)... Well, even when you send them a cd things can go wrong. Once I got the remark from an ensemble member that the pauses were too long. After some inquiries it turned out that th...

I have also had problems getting Sonic aifs to generate waveforms in PMX. I ended up converting everything to PMF format which solved the problem (of course). That's what I did too, couldn't wait to start using my new Pyramix :) Luckily converting audio files is amazingly fast, so there was little ...

One simple way of checking if your case(s) are similar is to try to open the file in windows media player. In precedent stories, windows media player could not open the files at all. Hmmm, Pyramix and QuickTime (apple OSX) play the files without problems and report as a format: "24-bit Integer...

PMF files dont have accociated pk files (the waveforms are kept in the metadata of the file itself) hope this helps:-) Please allow me another newbie question. As a Sonic Solutions (HD) user I have lots of files recorded in Sonic's aiff format (apparently not 100% compatible). Pyramix plays them fi...

Hi Graemme, thank you so much for your fast and helpful answer ! After some fiddling I managed to activate the asio4all driver myself, but it's good to have the procedure confirmed :) With this asio driver however the only I/O option I get is 24/48. This looks like a limitation of the driver, since ...

Re: 24 bit I/O with Native

Using the Dirext-X implemenation of Pyramix Native, you get 16 bit I/O. Use ASIO to ensure 24 bit I/O. Internal mixes/bounces aren't affected, just I/O. Sorry for asking again, but I'm new to Pyramix, Windows and ASIO. Did I get it right that: - Pyramix provides only 16 bit I/O when using Direct-X....

Re: 24 bit I/O with Native

...I believe monitoring was limited to 16 bits as well. Has this issue been resolved in v5? Right now I'm testdriving a Pyramix native demo on my MacBook. It seems that there are only 16 of the 24 data bits active in the desk and monitor output. My first thought was to blame Apple's windows driver ...

Re: LARGE PK file

Hi Every now and then in a mastering project Pyramix stalls in generating a PK file (waveform) for a file. If I minimize PMX and look at the PK file in Windows it just keeps on increasing in size. I've seen PK files become over 1GB 8O When the file is deleted and PMX rebooted things usually goes ba...

Re: More MacBook Pro Questions

Hi What are folk using for data drives Anyone tried Paralles Hi, this is my first post on the forum. I'm still running a Pyramix demo on my new MacBook (with BootCamp). Since most of my work is on Mac OSX, I'm using external FireWire drives, Mac formatted, and use MacDrive to mount them in XP. So f...
