Hapi Sample Rate in Masscore

Just to confirm:

Pyramix Masscore cannot automatically set the sample rate on the Hapi box to automatically match the current editing session?

The sample rate must be set on the Hapi box?

Re: Where is In Place

If you have more than one buss, it appears that Pyramix decides what buss to follow for In Place panning. I don't see a means of choosing the buss that makes most sense.

Re: Modified Keystrokes

... Yet when to do export a list of keyboard commands, you will see the ones you've modified yourself, along with all the defaults. I guess it's up to you to remember which is which. That's the challenge. On a large table like that, it's not easy to pick out the ones that are mine. After so many ye...

Re: Automation copy from V8 to V11

The fastest thing would be to let your project remain with its "Legacy" busses, After several hours of experimenting, that's the conclusion I reached. You lose some of your routing when changing buss type, and it's not worth the possibility of error when there are so many individual mixes...

Re: Modified Keystrokes

What's not mentioned is that you can choose whether to export every Keyboard Shortcut including those built-in by Merging - OR - just the ones that you have made yourself. In looking at this, I see options to either Export All or Export only commands that have an assigned keyboard shortcut. To the ...

Where is In Place

I wanted to use In Place panning on an aux buss, but I think it's now gone in Pyramix.

In Place, as in set pan of channel in aux to the same as the main stereo pan.

Automation copy from V8 to V11

I have 25 mixes from Vers 8 I have to re-mix in V11. The mixes are all automated. I need to modify the original stereo mixes, and also make surround mixes. All 25 mixes were originally done in a common template. For Vers 11, we're supposed to convert the buses to new the buss version. I thought it w...

Re: Dither in Album Publishing

A good reply Frank, but it only glances at the question at hand, and what I'm wondering about. Yes, the lack of Pow-r in album publishing matters. And what I'm pondering is whether Pyramix completes the SFC, then applies unspecified dither? I'm very fussy about dither and SFC. Fortunately Pyramix SF...

Re: Dither in Album Publishing

Good point. When possible, I only use Pow-r.
The other thing I'm hazy about in Album Publishing is whether dither is a separate process following sample frequency conversion.

Re: Memory

I don’t see a future for Pyramix Native, unless it becomes multithreaded... What Pyramix does well, it does really well. Complex music editing. Mix Automation. Very complicated mixer architectures. Session recording. But VST is here to stay. It's getting increasingly difficult to do pop, or even co...

Memory

I think the saying is you can never be too thin or have enough memory... I've been running on the Merging recommended 8 GB memory for years. Having problems with CPU overs on relatively few VST plugins. Anyone have experience whether more memory will help? FWIW, I'm due to build a new machine soon ...

Modified Keystrokes

Over years, I've modified keystrokes on my system. Now I need to do a clean re-install. Is there a way to see just those keystrokes that I've modified so I can re-set them. Some of those modified keystrokes have been with me so long, I'm not exactly certain what's original and what's modified. I kno...

Re: Time for a new PC

If what you're saying is true, then this is disheartening. I was getting pretty good performances on the same machine, running V8 masscore. I'd hate to think we've taken a step backwards. There's no getting around it- VST plugs are critical to our work. I'd still like to hear of any recent builds us...

Time for a new PC

Running Pyramix native V11 on my current PC, I'm getting pretty poor performance. The machine is a few years old, but was rock solid on my last Pyramix version. In V11, I'm getting slow scrolling, slow launch, poor VST performance and a crash or two a day. Looking over the Merging recommended config...
