We have succeeded to work Horus's perfectly with a LAWO mc² 36 via Ravenna through fiber connection with Luminex GIgacore10 switches.

Ravenna network Switch
Hi all, Last year I found a name of Luminex Gigscore series as one of network switches for Ravenna - AES67 In Merging Knoeledge Base page. We got some gigacore10s for our merging devices including Pyramix, Horus and Hapi and they have been working fine. But, today I found that the name of luminex Gi...

Re: PT64 Card connection with HDX
Hello,
I have a question about using PT64 cards.
When using PT64 cards and HDX cards with external clock and time code,is Avid HD sync necessary or not?

Re: Ravenna/MADI network routing
Hi,
I regularly use the routing audio from one horus to another horus and it's MADI outputs.
The MADI outputs have audio sources from both Horuses and it warks well.
But to set up this routing you have to use annoyng afvanced mode or buggy Aneman.
Best,
Masato.Y

Re: library monitoring no audio
Me, too.
It has happened since we upgraded to v11.
Yanase-san in DSP Japan, our local dealer in Japan, says it is a bug of current version.

Re: Horus/hapi with fiber connection
Nistov, and all,
Thank you very much for sharing your experiences with us.
I'm glad to Know actual use cases and your thoughts.
I have one more question. When you lay fiber cables how do you protect sc connectors?
Best,

Re: Horus/hapi with fiber connection
Klaukholm,
Thank you for your information.
We are now using Dell 2808 switches.
Which do you think is better to replace it with SG300 or to add Ethernet to fiber adapters?
Thanks,
Masato.Y

Re: Horus/hapi with fiber connection
Mark,
Thank you for your useful tips!
We need 150m(492ft) to 200m(656ft) from venue to OB truck parked outside the venue.
We regularly use analog multi channel audio cable, but sometimes, the length is less than 100m, we use horus and CAT5e/6 cable.
Thanks again,

Re: Naming Merging I/O
Now it makes sense to me.
That is indeed annoyng.
I regularly use two HORUSs. But one has AD cards while another one has ADA cards.
Fortunately it was easy to find each one. So I was not thinking about that until now.

Hello Larry,
The way to assign a name to Horus or Hapi is as follows.
open MTDiscovery > select device > right click > select [open advanced ] > input new name into the [device name] column .
I hope this helps you.

Acquisition of Fairlight by BMD
Hello everyone! What do you think about the acquisition of Fairlight by Black Magic Design? I think it is a good news for the industory because it may make a breakthrough in a monopoly status of Protools. Fairlight seems to be good at OEM,I wish the company would make a dedicated controller for Pyra...
