Re: Pro Tools Export

OMF is/was an older "universal" exchange format, which was supported for both import and export in earlier versions of Pyramix - I think export support was dropped around version 9 or 10. Newer versions of Pro Tools should support the AAF protocol (as does Pyramix). You'll have to work out...

Re: Strange Playlist behavior

No, there's no workaround, it's fundamental to how Playlists are implemented in Pyramix, meaning that you should not expect this to be changed. The only way to work is to make sure that all your tracks are where you want them before you start creating any Playlists. If you find you have to add a tra...

Re: start new file without stopping record

I use this all the time for location sessions. In the Settings > Project > Record page, you can enter the name of the next recording to be made. If you end the name with a three digit number, the "auto-increment" feature will pick up on that and continue the numbering from there. It has to...

Re: Auto Monitoring 11.1.6

This may be a bug, and as such should be reported to support@merging.com, but I think the issue stems from not having a Recording Destination folder set in the Settings > Project > General and the Settings > Project > Record panes. Even if it's properly set, try re-setting it, and then changing it b...

Re: Consolidate?

It sounds like you wish to export more than just the audio files/clips, otherwise a simple Render operation would be enough. Do you have the AAF export function key for Pyramix? Does the software to which you're exporting support AAF importing?

Re: trying to use Varispeed- am I missing something?

First off, what is your objective for using Varispeed? Is it to slow the tempo temporarily to facilitate an overdub or to apply some special effect, or is it to have the finished production be at a slower tempo and lower pitch? If the former, then you have to look to your audio interface to see what...

Re: "Can't create DB connection at location Z://..."

Could it be because the ProjectName .Composition.pml file is only available when a Pyramix Project file (.pmx) is open in Pyramix? The rest of the time it, and several other files are compressed and stored within the Project file. Since you said you were trying to access this file while using anothe...

Re: Clip Properties

On my Win10 test system, running 1803, I do not experience this problem. Right clicking on a clip in the timeline, or a file in the Media Manager, and getting the Properties yields the expected window with the expected information. It would seems it's a conflict between Pyramix and 1809. I noticed t...

Re: Pyramix display blurry

I found an answer for Win10. All you can do in the Settings, is increase the size of everything by scaling. Pyramix gets a little unwieldy when it's all puffed up like that. A better option IMO, is just to change the size of the display text: Download Advanced System Font Changer from https://www.wi...

Re: Pyramix display blurry

As someone who has struggled for years with the tiny fonts used by Windows, as well as getting nose prints all over my monitor from squinting to see what is being displayed in Pyramix, I feel your pain. You've discovered that using the Windows Control Panel > Display setting to anything other than 1...

Re: Where is In Place

There are busses, and then there are busses... The Mix Groups/Buses and Aux Groups/Buses route audio from strips to their respective summing masters. However a Panning Control Bus, in the words of the manual, "does not process audio and has no Channels, no associated Output Strip and no I/O. An...

Re: MTFF Playback Application

If you generate a PMI you can simply edit the file name to change the file extension from .pmi to .wav, which plays just fine on just about any media player.

It might be interesting to see whether the same trick can be applied to an MTFF file (changing .mtff to .wav), as I haven't tried that yet.

Re: Automation copy from V8 to V11

The fastest thing would be to let your project remain with its "Legacy" busses, which will also retain all your automation. The Legacy Bus structure works just fine in version 11, and I believe it was included here for just your purpose - to allow compatibility for older projects.

Re: Modified Keystrokes

Yeah, I saw something similar. Yet when to do export a list of keyboard commands, you will see the ones you've modified yourself, along with all the defaults. I guess it's up to you to remember which is which. As an alternative to that, you could save your current set up as a Shortcut Set, and print...

Re: Where is In Place

Take a look in the manual on page 298. There appears to be a "All In Place" setting available through the View/Hide box at the bottom of each Strip.
