Back to the topic at hand, I think it's fantastic that Merging is adding POWr redithering to the Pyramix feature set. Great work! As far as Pyramix for Mac is concerned, I think it would be a big gamble. Pyramix has its niche in the tiny field of professional multitrack systems for the PC (Not to me...

Stephan,
Thanks for the info. I didn't know that the repeater board could change the carrier to LVD.

Muchas Gracias

POW-r

I wonder if there have been any thoughts about creating (licensing) a Pow-r plugin for the Pyramix. I'm sure everyone at Merging is still catching their breath from working on 4.1, but it would be a great feature for 4.2, or a third-party plugin developer. PS Has anyone else heard it? I think it's f...

Thanks for the input, Pyro. I went nuts and added up the throughput needed for a full 24 tracks of 96khz, 32 bit worklength files, bidirectional, and it came out to just below 150Mb/sec, and that's without any preamble or dodads added on. I'll probably never need that much firepower, but I feel bett...

Is Single-ended SCSI OK?

Hello, On a spur-o-the-moment buy on eBay, I bought some Storcase (Kingston) removeable drive bays. I saw that they had 68 pin connectors, and assumed they were for LVD drives. However, the frame/carrier unit itself is a single-ended device, which means if I use them, my entire scsi bus will run in ...

- and because I LOVE to relax while listening to an edited & mixed tune once the work is done! ;-) I take note of your righteousness. :) Or, is that part of the Pyramix experience? (e.g., Recording artists of better quality come to your door, instead of only the bands that don't ever notice whe...

Doesn't Pyramix have an internal click track when in Bars and Beats mode? If I didn't misread that part, I'm sure that's midi generated, which means they've already incorporated some simple midi sequencing capability. I wonder how much farther they would have to go to turn it into a full-blown seque...

Mixdown... realtime?

One of the things I hate most about Protools is that the bounce-to-disc function is in realtime (after hours of editing, the last thing I want to do is listen to the song one more time in its entirety).
Is the Pyramix Mixdown function in realtime, or is it a quick offline type of process?

Time compression

A very good day to you all! Does Pyramix have an onboard time compression/expansion utility, or audio quantization? Thanks! Shane PS Sorry for asking simple questions, but there isn't a Merging reseller within 500 miles, so I can't demo the Pyramix first-hand. It would be much more helpful if Mergin...

VST (again...)

Please forgive me, but I'm going to ask about VST plugin development. (I know that's probably a frequent question.)
Are there any betas successfully running VST plugings? Specifically, is anyone using a TC Powercore without anything blowing up?
Thanks to you all!
