Recommended PC Config's not available
Hi, I am trying to put together a new Merging PC with two conventional PCI Myk boards running masscore. The problem is the mobo's listed on the merging site are all discontinued except the latest intel DX58SO board which only has one conventional PCI slot. Can you please recommend another board that...

3 GB physical max memory for 6.1 on XP SP3??
Hi,
Is there an installed physical 3 GB memory maximum for PMX 6.1 with Masscore on XP SP3??
Thanks, Tibor

Re: ADAT output sample rate not correct
Hey Dennis, Great observation! That worked for getting the Alesis into 96k mode. The weird thing is that the D/A converter is still reading it as 48k. Its just not liking this signal. I was able to do this with the exact same signal chain in V5.0. I want to give you a call to do the ADAT to AES swap...

Re: ADAT output sample rate not correct
Dear Ricardo,
The Alesis detected 96k in the same fashion when I had PMX 5.0. It appears I am forced to make the ADAT to AES daughter card swap to get back up and running at 96khz.
Thanks, Tibor

ADAT output sample rate not correct
Hi, I am trying to get my ADAT daughtercard (with shield) with the Masscore to output 96k 24bit audio to an Alesis ADAT to AES converter. But my Alesis AI4 with clock set to ADAT input says that this incoming ADAT signal is 48k. *I was able to pass 96k to the AI4 with PMX 5.0* Anyone else have this ...

ADAT output sample rate is 48kHz when project is 96 kHz
Hi All, I am running V6.0 SP2 with XP SP2/Masscore and am having trouble getting my output sample rate up to 96kHz. I have two Myk cards with ADAT daughters. I am able to get the 96kHz audio into the ADAT/Myk card but when I want to play out, the sample rate won't go above 48 kHz. Even though the pr...

NTFS allocation units and playback/record blocks/buffers
Hi, Can someone please comment on whether or not using a custom allocation units block size of 64KB in NTFS and then using a matching record block size of 64KB in PMX would provide optimal peformance? Is there a tight correlation between these values?? Also, what about playback buffer size optimizat...

DANTE
I was really impressed by the supermac spec. However, I am also intrigued by this new audio over ethernet protocol by Audinate called DANTE. <http://www.audinate.com/techoverview.shtml> Looks pretty darn compelling. All you need is an ASIO driver and it sends the audio out of your ethernet port. Hmm...

Word Clocking Options with PMX
Hi All,
Is there a performance advantage to using the PMX word clock input versus using the AES/EBU input as a sync source?
To put the question another way; Is one clock path more accurate than the other? In terms of jitter etc...
Kind Regards, Tibor

Hi Mark, I have been looking into doing this as well. What I found out was that I could trade in one of my Myk cards and sell the other and buy a Myk-X to go with the Magma PCI Express solution. The problem with this is that you need to have a PCIe slot on your PC to use Magma's chassis to PCIe card...

Thanks for the clarifications. Analog vs digital mastering, its a tough one to crack, but I'm going to try. So far, I am addressing Analog summing and next will be EQ but I have not even looked at Compression/Limiting. Can anyone say that the Solera is a must have over Bus Tools? The outcome of this...

Analog summing vs Pmx
Hi, Are people using analog summing in lieu of summing in PMX? It appears that analog summing is greatly improving Pro Tools HD mixes. Do we need to do this in PMX? I am not sure what "fixes" Pro Tools HD has made to their mix bus but it would appear that it was not enough of a fix. I woul...
